descripção |
This one mvt. piece is a portrait of Mozart`s cousin (Baesle) , Anna Thekla Mozart, the young woman who some historians think ushered 21 year old Mozart into the world of adult love relationships. She lived in Augsburg, where Mozart later met the Weber family, a member of which, Konstanze, was later to become Wolfgang`s spouse. However, at first, Mozart fell for Konstanza`s older sister, Aloiysia, who rejected him out of hand. It is thought that Anna Thekla, comforted him in her own inimitable way. The allegations in this blurb are mere conjectures, and have not, and never will be, proved in court! Some headings appear in the score, to wit; ``hubsche Thekla`` which means ``cute Thekla`` and ``Padre Emilian``. He was a priest who, in Wolfgang`s and Baesle`s presence, asked Mozart to sing a duet with him. The Padre began a Gregorian chant, apparently well known at the time, and Wolfgang joined him, purposely making errors in the notes and substituting the religious words with lewd ones. He and Baesle later laughed themselves silly over the incident. This work could serve on a program that featured the Mozart Clarinet Quintet. |
